Top tipster Dave Nevison shares his four best bets for a fantastic afternoon of racing at Thirsk and Newmarket, with both meetings, plus the final day of the Punchestown Festival, all live on Racing TV.
Double Rush is set to be 8lb higher in future races which, by my calculations, looks an extremely generous assessment of the demolition job he performed at the Craven Meeting two weeks ago.
The Andrew Balding-trained sprinter races under a 5lb penalty here and that puts him extremely well in at the weights and he is simply unopposable in this Heritage event.
He has only ever raced over six furlongs and clearly Newmarket’s Rowley Mile suits him well, so even though he will be very short, it is difficult to see him beaten and I imagine he will be the number 5 in many punters Union Jack bet (if it still exists).
Mister Winston is another of Andrew Balding’s who comes here from the Craven meeting with a penalty. I see no reason to desert him given the way he made all to win.
He was expected to improve physically from three to four and certainly looked to have done well over the winter and was always in control in that mile event and though nothing has come out from that race I am happy to take it as strong form. He was keeping on well at the line and I very much doubt the extra furlong will be any issue(he was placed in a 10f maiden early last season).

After winning his maiden at Nottingham, things didn’t always go brilliantly for Sea Force in some big-field handicaps, but he came good in no uncertain style on his final start last season.
He won a competitive event at the Yarmouth festival by a length and. a half, confirming the impression that he might well have a much bigger handicap in him this season.
William Haggas reintroduced him up at Musselburgh in April and the four-year-old looked a bit rusty, but till ran a creditable race, and while this event might well be a stepping stone to big summer events, the Thirsk Hunt Cup is a decent prize to pick up en-route. The stable has really hit form in recent weeks.
Daiquiri Bay bolted up in a Chester maiden when reappearing last May beating Mister Winston by five lengths, so that form looks very strong now.
He didn’t manage to win a handicap after that, but ran very well in several of the strongest three-year-old events of the season, getting placed most times.
He clearly goes well fresh and this race looks very likely to be run at a very fast pace which could suit. Twelve furlongs might be his ideal trip.
