3.30 Musselburgh: Purple Martini
Purple Martini has run very well on both her starts this season, including a reappearance win over this course and distance.
Ben Haslam’s five-year-old mare finished behind The Gay Blade at Carlisle last time, but that rival hasn’t run as well in two runs since, and I believe Purple Martini is likely to reverse that form.
Ideally drawn in stall three, I expect her to be able to sit just off the pace, and I am not at all concerned that the excellent Kaiya Fraser is taking over from Paul Mulrennan, who has been on board for Purple Martini’s good runs so far.

4.00 Musselburgh: Code Purple
I am obviously hoping it is a good afternoon for Ben Haslam and these connections, as I believe another 'Purple' horse has a good chance here.
Haslam’s past 20 runners have not yielded a win, but there have been several near-misses, and I have no doubt the stable is in form plus one will strike soon.
Code Purple ran poorly last time but was upped in trip and has been dropped 3lb by the handicapper as a result. The six-year-old is now just 3lb higher than when scoring over course and distance last summer and has run very well off even higher marks since that victory.
He can definitely win off this mark.
4.30 Musselburgh: Ziggy’s Condor
Ziggy’s Condor has finished down the field in two more competitive handicaps at York on his past two outings, but is definitely capable of better, and hopefully this drop into calmer waters might help.
He has already won a race this season, on the all-weather at Southwell, and due to those recent runs, he is now able to run off a mark 2lb lower plus ran perfectly well off a rating of 80 at Haydock just three runs ago.
Richard Fahey's gelding runs best when up with the pace and it will probably help his cause having three slow-starters drawn inside him. At a sharp track such as Musselburgh, things could work out very well for him.
Ziggy’s Condor looks well worth a chance at likely decent odds here.
