2.53 Redcar: Blue Boy Junior
Blue Boy Junior is the lightly raced three-year-old going into handicap company for the first time against a whole host of exposed and possibly out of form rivals, so he has plenty going for him here off what seems a reasonable opening mark.
The Barron’s gelding ran two respectable races on his two starts in the spring, finishing fourth both times, and returned from a summer break with an eye-catching run at Southwell. There, he travelled well until tiring and was not knocked about at all.
He went off a big price, but my gut feeling is that he is very likely to show improvement in handicap company and I would be surprised if he doesn’t win a race this autumn.
3.23 Redcar: Sir Garfield
Jason Hart has been on board Sir Garfield for six of his seven wins and is back on board this afternoon after the Quinns' sprinter was very disappointing last time out when going off 3-1 favourite.
That poor run has to be discounted, but given the gelding’s overall consistency it is reasonable to forgive. Sir Garfield has won twice this season, both in higher grades than this afternoon, and has bagged a good draw in stall 13 here.
He is only 3lb higher than his latest win and, with conditions in his favour, he looks well capable of going well once more.

4.54 Redcar: Albegone
Albegone is a sprinter in top form and, based on recent runs, must show up well here. This time last year he was running off marks in the mid 70s and it has taken 12 months to run himself down the weights and hit winning form once more.
The Tim Easterby gelding is just 2lb higher than when he won on his penultimate start and ran really well off this mark last week.
He clearly has it in him to win a race off 58 here and a draw in stall 3 should put him in a good position.
