Tiger Roll beats Magic Of Light in the 2019 Grand National (PA)
The 2021 Randox
Grand National weights are to be revealed live on
Racing TV on Tuesday. The show will be free to view.
The Jockey Club and Racing TV announced last month it will host a live broadcast from Aintree’s Weighing Room on Tuesday February 16 at 11.30am.
The broadcast will also be streamed through The Jockey Club’s social media channels.
Ed Chamberlin will host and will be speaking to a number of key people including Martin Greenwood, who is BHA’s Steeplechase Team Leader and the man who has sole discretion for deciding the weights.
Chamberlin and Greenwood will be joined by former jockeys Ruby and Katie Walsh to reveal the weights live on Racing TV.
There will be reaction from top trainers including three-time Grand National winner, Gordon Elliott, with an update on hat-trick seeking
Tiger Roll.
Paul Nicholls, successful with
Neptune Collonges in 2012; Christian Williams, trainer of "virtual Grand National winner" Potters Corner; and Jonjo O’Neill, who handled 2010 victor Don’t Push It; will also be on the show along with Jessica Harrington, who went close to victory in 2019 when saddling runner-up Magic Of Light.
Jockey Daryl Jacob, who partnered Neptune Collonges to success, will also be interviewed.
There will be interviews from the joint-most successful owner in Grand National history, Trevor Hemmings; former England No 1 golfer and racehorse owner, Lee Westwood as well as Welsh & Lions Rugby player and owner of Potters Corner, Jonathan Davies.
There will also be an interview with the Managing Director of headline sponsor Randox, Dr Peter FitzGerald, on its recent five-year partnership extension and a busy year at the forefront of fighting Covid-19.
The
Randox Grand National weights will be broadcast live and free to air on Racing TV, channel 426 on Sky or 536 on Virgin Media, through the RacingTV app, available on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Apple TV or online at racingtv.com.
