Soldier In Milan
Best odds: 9-1.
This seven-year-old was a good winner over Kiss Will in a Beginners’ Chase at Punchestown on his penultimate start in February.
He disappointed when fourth behind C’Est Ta Chance at Thurles last time out, but I think you can forgive that run, and a rating of 142 makes appeal.
He's now a best-priced 9-1 to provide the Emmet Mullins team with BOYLE Sports Irish
Grand National glory.
C’Est Ta Chance
If you fancy Soldier In Milan, then I think you have got to give a big shout to C’Est Ta Chance, who is chalked up at 16-1.
He has to prove his stamina, but his last run, when winning a Grade Three novice chase at Thurles under Paul Townened, was a really nice performance.
The seven-year-old quickened up in good style there to score by almost five lengths and, similar to Soldier In Milan, he’s open to a lot more improvement off a rating of 142.
Goraibhmaithagat
The other contender who makes the shortlist for Monday's BOYLE Sports Irish Grand National is Goraibhmaithagat.
Colm Murphy's charge was a good winner of a Listed handicap chase at Naas in February, and then finished second last time out when stepping up in trip, and caught the eye.
He would prefer a bit of cut in the ground but, again, with just six runs over fences under his belt, he could have stacks of improvement left in him. He's part of a strong squad for the J P McManus team
I also have a strong fancy who wears the green and gold hoops at Fairyhouse on Sunday. Make sure you watch the TikTok reel above to find out who that is!
