Irish racing expert Johnny Ward has two fancies for the action at Fairyhouse on Saturday, live on Racing TV.
Well, well, well.
There I was last month hailing Davy Russell for his low-key and out-of-the-blue retirement announcement at Thurles – only for the great man to retire from retirement within a few weeks!
There's something captivating about having another chance to see Russell ride between now and the end of the season. He will be wishing Jack Kennedy all the best in terms of his latest recovery from injury; many stories are to be told.
Russell has two rides on Saturday and three more at Punchestown on Sunday. It's like he never went away! Be lucky.
The key here is the ground. They are calling it soft to heavy and Blood Destiny, being a real National Hunt type, will probably cope that bit better than the likes of Common Practice and Nusret, while Jazzy Matty looks a little more exposed.
Moreover, it was really encouraging to see the form of his bloodless win at Cork so nicely endorsed since by the runner-up, who scored at Punchestown on his next outing.
By Walk In The Park out of Nadiya De La Vega, this mare should have ability and, even though she's hardly a good thing on paper with a mark of 109, I believe she ran into one in the shape of Marelly at Limerick last time out.
She's getting there and looks massive each-way value here as very few have any chance.
