I am keen to take on Ballyburn given he has looked far from a natural in both chase starts so far and I prefer the very useful Impaire Et Passe.
The seven-year-old is unbeaten in two starts over fences and easily landed the Grade One Guinness Faugheen Novice Chase at Limerick last time out. He recorded a Race iQ Jump Index of 7.4, having jumped very well at Fairyhouse on debut and earning a figure of 8.1.
According to the data, Ballyburn has only recorded 6.7 and 6.1 Jump Index figures so far.
1.22 Musselburgh: TRIPOLI FLYER
He has plenty of speed and this sharp track will suit his strong-traveling nature.
Tripoli Flyer - useful in bumpers - got off the mark over hurdles last time and at the second time of asking, impressing with how he jumped and travelled. He demolished the field that day by 29 lengths, while the form of his debut second at Chepstow is working out well.
His effort at Market Rasen last time out is a standout effort in the context of this race and he should win.
2.10 Leopardstown: GAELIC WARRIOR
Not everyone was satisfied with his return to action here behind Solness last time, but I believe it was a perfectly satisfactory return on his first run in open company.
Gaelic Warrior was left poorly-placed in a steadily-run affair and he appeared to blow up before running on after the last.
He is a lot better than the bare result and can lay down a marker for the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase.
3.00 Musselburgh: SAMUI
and he looks sure to be suited by going up seven furlongs in trip given that he was a strong stayer at two miles on the Flat.
He has Listed form on the level and, although he won last time at two miles, he was flat out for much of the journey.
A mark of 136 could underestimate him at this distance and I would not be surprised if he had at least 10lb in hand.
