Sunday tips: Angus McNae has four bets at Thurles and Fakenham

This mare has impressed on her two starts over fences, winning both and impressing with how easily she dispatched her rivals in a Grade Two contest at Cork last time out.

She has won five of her eight starts for Gavin Cromwell who has his horses in tremendous form. Although this is her toughest task over fences so far, she looks capable of rising to the task. 

This ten-year-old has never quite fulfilled his potential but, on his day, he is a very useful performer, as he showed when easily winning a handicap chase at Punchestown in 2023 off a rating of 148. 

He has been lightly raced since that effort, and was far too keen over hurdles on his comeback recently. That will have blown the cobwebs away, though, and he is just the type to cause an upset in an open-looking contest. 

This useful Flat performer looks to be very well treated as he returns to hurdling. He proved himself capable in Listed company on the Flat and ended last season on a rating of 105. He races off just 126 here and looks to have plenty in hand. 

Gordon Elliott's charge has not raced over hurdles for a while but has won over obstacles plus has improved a good deal on the Flat since he last raced over hurdles. 

Ideally, he would be suited by further than two miles, but he is too well handicapped to ignore here. 

This mare has only had three starts over fences, but has already proved that she is a far better chaser than hurdler. 

She is a good jumper and impressed in obtaining a RaceiQ jump index of 8.3 when winning on her chasing debut at Fakenham. 

She was second in a Mares' Listed race last time out and although she has to give weight away all round, the return to a handicap can see her back in the winners' enclosure.
