Trainer David Menuisier is hopeful Make Time could yet emerge as a realistic contender for the Qipco 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.Narrowly beaten at huge odds on his racecourse debut at Ascot last September, the son of Makfi went one better in some style at Salisbury a few weeks later.Menuisier has given his charge time to develop since and he is set to take in a trial before being aimed at the first colts' Classic of the season on May 6. "He is entered in the 2000 Guineas and is going the right way at the moment. I think we will probably start him in a Guineas trial, if everything carries on the right way, and we'll take it from there," said the Pulborough-based trainer. "He had gone in his coat at the end of the season so we thought there was no point running him again. We thought we'd put him away as he had already won quite nicely. "I always believed he was more of a three-year-old than a two-year-old and I hope he can prove me right."Another colt for whom Menuisier has high hopes is Contrapposto. The three-year-old won on his third start at Nottingham before finishing down the field in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster. "He has wintered really well and is entered in the Guineas, Derby and French Derby. He is in all the good races," said Menuisier. "I think the plan is pretty much the same as Make Time. He will go somewhere for a Guineas trial. I still can't split the pair of them as they are both quite similar and both did well last year. "Hopefully they will show something again and prove to everyone they can compete at the top level."
