Former Tipstar champion Katie Midwinter shares her five best bets across three meetings on Friday, with every race from Perth and Cork live on Racing TV.
2.05 Perth: Fortunedefortunata (E/W)
Making each-way appeal at big odds, the nine-year-old is capable of putting in a bold bid from a rating of 125 with 5lb claimer Jack Power in the saddle.
He caught the eye when running on well at a price of 100-1 to finish third at Haydock recently and could take another step forward for that placed effort on only his third start for Patrick Neville.
A strong stayer on a workable mark, he is one to note at the early 25-1 on offer.
2.40 Perth: Wa Wa (E/W)
The course and distance winner won this race twelve months ago from the same mark of 110 with Lewis Saunders, who claims 5lb aboard this time, claiming 7lb on that occasion.
Well-treated at the weights once again despite being an 11-year-old, the proven contender could claim another success at Perth for trainer Olly Murphy, who has a 44 per cent strike-rate at the track this season. The veteran holds each-way claims at the early 12-1.
4.55 Chepstow: Amateur (E/W)
Despite being in the twilight of his career, the 13-year-old veteran is far from a forlorn hope on some of the form he has shown over the past year and is a strong stayer with proven course form in his favour.
He's now 10lb below his last winning mark and 12lb lower than when a decent fifth to Sam Brown in a higher class handicap last spring.
On his penultimate start, the John and Rhys Flint-trained contender put in a respectable effort at Cartmel before unseating on his return last month. Each-way claims.
7.07 Chepstow: American Land
The Joe Tizzard-trained runner remains unexposed and capable of showing further progression, only 2lb higher than his last success at Newton Abbot last summer.
Conditions, as well as the trip, should suit, and he can take a step forward for his return to action following a break earlier this month when a good fourth at 22-1 here.
He has course experience and now has the benefit of a recent run, and is therefore capable of making his presence felt as he bids for a sixth career success.
7.45 Cork: Apercu
From a mark only 1lb higher than her last win, the six-year-old mare is a course and distance winner with plenty in her favour as she makes her return to action in this extended mile-and-a-quarter contest.
She is back in handicap company following a few efforts at Stakes level, which should allow her to fare better as well as the return to familiar surroundings.
