An afternoon of largely competitive sprint handicaps at
Nottingham and I have ended up with one drawn high, one low and one in the middle, so hopefully their course is fair all the way across the track! Best of luck.
The Daley Express is a back-to-form sprinter who had become very well handicapped when successful last time out over this course and distance. He beat a similar in-form horse in Dapper Man that afternoon and the from can be upgraded, so even off a 7lb higher mark, I am backing him to follow up here.
He faces different ground conditions here, but that is likely to help him given his previous runs on softer going and he has scored more than once off a higher mark than this, so is arguably still well in.
William Buick is a strong jockey booking taking over from a claimer.
This one was beaten by two of his rivals here last time out, but that run signnalled a return to form and he is taken to finish on top this time.
Blinkers for the first time seemed to bring about improvement for that run and hopefully they will work again on Wednesday.
He needs to lead, and it seems likely that if he breaks well, he should lead those drawn high here and he won on soft ground off a higher mark last season at Carlisle.
His stable has been in excellent form since the beginning of October as well, which is another positive.
This three-year-old showed his first from in a basement handicap last time and is one who may just have a bit of upside in a very modest sprint.
His dam was placed at Group level on soft ground, so hopefully the most testing ground he has raced on won’t hinder him here.
He is sprint bred, so it was perhaps surprising he was campaigned over extended trips for his first runs, but hopefully now that he is sprinting he will reveal himself to be well handicapped.
