5.10 Newcastle: Royal Blaze
Royal Blaze is difficult to win with, he has the best rider on board in this to persuade him in this Amateur Jockeys' Handicap.
Eireann Cagney is definitely my go-to jockey in these events, and is on a contender that signalled he was on the way back to winning form last time out.
The selection was staying on nicely over a furlong shorter last time out, and will be suited by returning to a course and distance he has won over in the past.
Royal Blaze may be an each-way price, and I doubt he will miss the places, at least, here.

7.28 Newcastle: Corolla Point
Corolla Point has done well in both his starts for Ed Bethell this season since he left Godolphin. He has been beaten off the same mark as this on both occasions, but I think he may well have been in exactly the wrong spot, when racing towards the middle of the track, in a competitive handicap at York last time out.
He finished third there, and the first two were effectively wide on either side of him, plus there has to be a possibility he might have finished closer.
His ability to act on the all-weather has to be taken on trust, but he will definitely be well suited by a strongly-run five furlongs.
I'm hoping he can repay a chunk of his recent £60k purchase back here (he previously changed hands for £800k!). He's my nap of the day on Friday.
8.03 Newcastle: Ancient State
Adam Kirby’s four-year-old is only 4lb higher than when bolting up on his latest start, and the penalty shouldn’t be what stops him from following up.
He might have had an advantage sticking to the rail there, but most of his recent form would certainly make him a serious contender in this.
The drop back to five furlongs, and switch back to an all-weather track, won’t be an issue (his penultimate win came at Southwell).
