Winning rider Shane Foley was suspended for nine days for improper riding aboard Moonlit Sun in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Naas on Wednesday evening.
The Jessica Harrington-trained filly was short of room a furlong out, but Foley switched his mount, bumping the eventual runner-up White Sand Beach.
At the stewards’ enquiry, Foley was adjudged to be in breach of Rule 214 and received a nine-day suspension because it was his second offence of improper riding.
The 9-4 favourite Moonlit Sun, who won by a comfortable length in the end, was allowed to keep the race.
