William Cox suffers broken jaw and Eoin Walsh breaks arm in Wolverhampton spill

Apprentice jockeys William Cox and Eoin Walsh are both facing spells on the sidelines after being injured in an incident at Wolverhampton on Friday evening.The riders were taken to New Cross Hospital after the three-horse pile-up, which occurred on the turn for home about two furlongs from the finish in the sunbets.co.uk Download The App Apprentice Handicap.Cox was aboard the John Flint-trained Mobley Chaos, who brought down Secret Lightning, ridden by Walsh. Binky Blue also came down, but his rider Toby Eley appeared to escape relatively unscathed.Flint reports Cox to have sustained a hairline fracture to his jaw as well as damaging his teeth, while Walsh has broken his arm.He said: "William is OK and is hoping to be discharged from the hospital later this morning."All of his scans and X-rays came back good, but they just found a hairline fracture in his jaw and he's broken some of his front teeth."He can't remember very much after giving me the saddle and he is obviously very sore. I think he'll be a bit better once he has seen the dentist to sort his teeth. "Hopefully he will just be out for a couple of weeks and we can find a nice one for him to come back on. "Eoin has broken his arm quite badly and I think they were hoping to operate on that today. "He's probably going to be off for a while, but they are both very lucky boys to be walking away from that."
