Dave Nevison kickstarts a new week with three selections across Beverley, live on Racing TV, and . For more top tips for Tuesday,
3.12 Beverley: Fierce
Fierce has run creditably on both outings since joining sprint specialist Paul Midgley. He finished a good second at Newcastle in March and had the worst of the draw over this course and distance last time out, but stayed on well enough to be fourth.
That race was not run as fast as this one is likely to be, with several front-runners set to be vying for the lead, and this four-year-old can be seen to better advantage from a middle draw this time.
He is a pound lower in the weights now, which will obviously help, but a strongly-run contest looks the main positive for his chances.
3.42 Beverley: Casilli
Casilli is off a significantly lower rating than her last win, which came at this track in 2023, but she has run several good races since, including at Beverley, and is definitely not without a chance here.
A mile is the lowest end of her distance range, but she was placed over this trip twice last season and, provided she gets a decent pace, which seems likely, she might well figure in the finish.
Michael and David Easterby's runners have generally been going well recently, and they had a winner at Ascot on Saturday, so after a promising reappearance effort over course and distance, I expect a decent run from this six-year-old mare.
3.50 Chepstow: Fact Or Fable
David Probert is a red-hot jockey at Chepstow and the booking of him here catches the eye, given he is taking over from a claimer in this low-grade handicap.
Fact Or Fable also knows a thing or two about the Monmouthshire track, and has run several good races at Chepstow having won four times at this venue.
The seleciton has won following an 84-day break before, so I am not too concerned about this being his first run since February, and the fact Stan Moore has swapped Fact Or Fable's regular rider for Probert suggests the veteran handicapper is ready to go here.
