1.45 Leopardstown: Dabashan
This colt made a promising debut at Dundalk in March and looks sure to take a step forward now he moves up in trip to a mile and a half.
He made his debut over ten furlongs at Dundalk and raced in rear plus ran in snatches, amid obvious inexperience, before staying on well to finish third.
He seemed to be learning as the race went on and that experience will not be lost on him here. His trainer, Johnny Murtagh, is in good form and this well bred colt, from a stamina laden family, can strike here before going on to better things.
2.20 Leopardstown: Chantez
Ger Lyons has won the past two renewals of this Group Three contest and can strike again with Chantez.
This filly looked thoroughly progressive when winning a maiden and a Listed race at this track last year, but that progression stalled last time out at the Curragh where she got very upset in the stalls, and endured a poor trip through the race.
She was not given a hard race when her chance had gone, and a return to the Listed winning form that she produced will see her go close.
The three-year-old has only had four starts, and there is plenty more to come from her.
2.30 Killarney: Speculatrix
This mare arrives in good form after finishing fourth at Cheltenham last time out where she shaped better than the bare result.
She tanked through that Listed contest and hit the front a long way from home before tiring after the last. She would have gone close to winning if her effort had been delayed longer, and a more patient ride here should pay dividends.
The drop back in trip to 2m1f will suit her strong-travelling style, too, as long as her finishing effort is reserved for the latter part of the race.
3.05 Killarney: Last Kingdom
This Willie Mullins-trained gelding improved a good deal when contesting a handicap last time out at Fairyhouse.
He ran out a ready length and a half winner off a rating of 115 having travelled strongly throughout. He jumped well and had to overcome some trouble in running, but still won with plenty in hand.
The comfortable nature of his success did not go unnoticed by the handicapper as he has raised him 13lb since. However, such was his superiority at Fairyhouse, he should be very competitive off his revised mark.
