Free horse racing tips for Saturday: Harry Allwood's best bets

Harry Allwood struck with ante-post tip Ruling Court (advised at 10-1) last weekend and also selected Two Tempting (advised at 6-1) on Friday. Our man is back with three more bets for Saturday's action across Haydock and .

1.00 Haydock: Long Draw

Best odds: --
This six-year-old last time out where he returned with a victory following a 111-day break, and while a 6lb rise demands more, there are reasons to believe he will defy a career-high rating of 134 here.
Olly Murphy's gelding was quietly fancied for the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival, with the form of his win at Cheltenham in December working out well, but missed the cut for that race by one. The same happened at Aintree, too, so his absence wasn't by design, and he stayed on powerfully on his belated return plus was well on top at the finish.
He is entitled to improve for that, despite the fact he has gone well fresh in the past, and he appeared to gain a second wind after losing his position ahead of the third last. That looks a strong piece of form, and Long Draw was well on top at the finish despite doing plenty wrong during the race.
The selection also remains unexposed over this trip and Olly Murphy is in red-hot form, with 10 winner from 17 runners (59 per cent strike-rate) in the past fortnight, at the time of writing.
I doubt Long Draw has finished improving yet, and the likelihood of a decent pace should suit, as will the ground, so there are enough positives to suggest he is the one to side with.

1.35 Haydock: Ooh Betty

Best odds: 11-1 (each-way).
A fiercely competitive handicap but, at double-figure odds, Ooh Betty is worth chancing following her eye-catching run in defeat at Kelso last time out.
That was arguably a career best from Ben Clarke's charge, although she did finish third behind Take No Chances at Ascot in January, and that form was franked in style by Kargese at the Cheltenham Festival.
She travelled nicely before becoming outpaced at a crucial stage in the Coral Scottish Champion Hurdle, and stormed home to snatch third. In another few strides, she would have won.
She has been raised a pound since and while she does continue to creep up the handicap, her latest effort suggests she is capable of landing a race of this nature off her career-high rating.
The concern here is that she may become outpaced again, especially on this ground, and run out of time to catch the leaders. However, the long straight at Haydock should help, and Ooh Betty is overpriced on the strength of her latest start.

3.35 Lingfield: Jabaara

Best odds: 11-4.
Jabaara improved again last year to enjoy a productive campaign, with the highlight being her second behind Porta Fortuna in the Group One Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes.
She was also a shade unlucky in a Group Three at Goodwood next time out where she was demoted to second, but travelled like the best horse in that race, and probably became a shade lonely in front.
It is a positive sign she was kept in training this season and after a pipe-opener at Wolverhampton in March, where she suffered traffic problems, she performed with credit in defeat in a Grade One at Keeneland where she raced freely plus was forced to challenge wide.
She might not quite be Group One standard yet, but has been found a good opportunity back in Grade Three company here. Her main market rival, Cathedral, has bundles of potential, although she lacks race fitness, and bypassed the Betfred 1000 Guineas, which had been her target.
The other quartet need to improve on what they have shown so far, and Jabaara looks the one to beat with Silvestre De Sousa, who guided her to success at Musselburgh last year, back aboard.
