David Maxwell, the popular owner-rider, has retired from the saddle at the age of 47 after breaking his back for a fourth time in the spring.
With 75 winners to his name, he has been a regular sight on Racing TV over the years, so here are some of his best moments on the channel.
"I'm going to have a mental block here; when we get to The Chair, I'm going to come off at the elbow because I only ever go round this track once, not twice!" - Maxwell was a guest on Luck On Sunday after Ain't That A Shame finished sixth in the Grand National.
"It's as much fun as you can have with your trousers on" - Maxwell spoke to Ruby Walsh at Punchestown after winning aboard Bob And Co.
After his first Cheltenham winner aboard Jatiluwih, Maxwell spoke to Lydia Hislop.
Hislop: "How did you do it?"
Maxwell: "Well, I had a nice horse and Philip trained it beautifully. All I had to do was not fall off on the way to the start - regular viewers will know that's not a given!"
Cheltenham: "as good as it gets for an idiotic middle-aged man."
"That's the most anyone has ever spent riding out their claim... when I came into this sport, I came to ride a few point-to-point winners, it's just nobody has told me to stop yet."
