Powerful is two from two at Punchestown this season and impressed when winning a qualifier for this race over course and distance in January, travelling smoothly and gaining 11 lengths with his accurate jumping.
He never figured dropped back to two miles in a strong contest last time, but this test and lesser company will be more suitable.
4.50 Dooley Insurance Group Champion Novice Chase
Career Jump Index: 8.1 Form at Punchestown: 11. Lengths Gained Jumping: 31.10 (in four starts over fences)
Kitzbuhel put up the best jumping performance over fences at the Cheltenham Festival last month when winning the Brown Advisory, getting an Index score of 9.2 out of 10 and gaining almost nine lengths.
He had been a similarly athletic in the Kauto Star at Kempton, when he swiped almost ten lengths. The zestful front-runner can again lead his rivals a merry dance provided his exploits last time have not left a mark.
6.05 William Hill Champion Chase
Career Jump Index: 8.7. Top Speed: 36.63mph (at Cheltenham last time).Lengths Gained Jumping: 61.56 (all runs over fences)
Majborough was betrayed by jumping errors in the second half of the Champion Chase last month, when odds on, and has usually jumped left on right-hand tracks like Punchestown.
However, his jumping can also be a huge weapon when he gets it right, such as when trouncing Marine Nationale at Leopardstown on his penultimate start. He gained 16.24 lengths in the air that day and if that version turns up here, then he will take plenty of stopping.
