3.50 Meydan: Symbol Of Honour

Symbol Of Honour is the choice in a fiercely competitive handicap. He won twice here last year, including when he defeated the useful West Acre, who he faces again here.

He is a strong stayer over six furlongs and the predicted strong pace is sure to bring out the best in him. A lightly-raced Group Two winner already, it is not impossible that there is more improvement to come at a track where he is unbeaten.

I was impressed with the improvement this five-year-old showed when winning a handicap by over four lengths last time out and, given how dominant he was, it is no surprise his connections have decided to contest a Group Three on Friday.

He impressed with how he quickened through an 11.89s penultimate furlong for that victory, and he is a progressive stayer with a turn of speed who can take the step up in grade in his stride.

5.00 Meydan: The Camden Colt

Well drawn in stall two, this five-year-old looks capable of landing this handicap based on his consistent profile on the dirt surface at Meydan.

He ran well when second at Jebel Ali recently, and comes here in as good a form as any of his rivals.

His form figures since joining the Bhupat Seemar yard read 22132, and another big run can be expected, particularly as his low draw will enable him to dominate the race on the inside rail.

5.35 Meydan: The Fingal Raven

Jamie and Saffie Osborne had a disappointing day here last week, but they have a good chance of another winner at the track with The Fingal Raven.

The selection finished an excellent fourth in a handicap here last time out when poorly drawn in stall 14. A better draw in seven here can help Saffie ride a race that she wants, rather than being dictated by the draw.

The Fingal Raven can gain his first win since he was a juvenile, and lift the spirits of the Osborne team.
