Kerry Lee considers Thistlecrack Cheltenham clash with Kylemore Lough

Kylemore Lough could lock horns with Thistlecrack in the BetBright Trial Cotswold Chase at Cheltenham on Saturday after the two horses featured among 11 entries.Kerry Lee's Grade One winner was due to run at Ascot last weekend, but with that meeting lost to the weather, plans had to be revised.Kylemore Lough has also been given an entry in the Hugo´s Resturant Barbados Trophy Handicap Chase on the nine-race card at Cheltenham. Lee said of a potential run in the Cotswold Chase:"I know it means stepping up to three miles for the first time and it's a massive step up in class, buthe's got a Gold Cup entry so we need to know if we're going to use it or not. "At this stage it's just an entry, we'll just see who goes where."Thistlecrack is the current star of the National Hunt scene and Colin Tizzard's charge stepped out of novice company with an exemplary display in the King George at Kempton.Immediately afterwards, Tizzard stated this race would set him up nicely for the Gold Cup.It will be far from a walkover, though, as Oliver Sherwood has entered 2015 Grand National winner Many Clouds, who claimed this race two years ago.Alan King could run 2015 Hennessy hero Smad Place, who also landed the Cotswold Chase last season.Paul Nicholls has entered dual King George winner Silviniaco Conti, Scottish National hero Vicente and Le Mercurey.Perfect Candidate, Regal Encore, Shantou Flyer and French runner Vezelay complete the list of possible runners.
