We are now just days away from the 2024 Galway Races Summer Festival, and
is preparing to send a large number of her team to one of Ireland's best festivals.
Harrington is still finalising plans for a few members of her team, but will have a strong squad across the seven days, and spoke about her intended runners at a media event organised by HRI at her yard on Tuesday morning.
Kate Harrington, daughter and assistant trainer to Jessica, was also on hand to provide updates on the Harrington team, and below is what the pair had to say.
Make sure you also look out for our Jessica Harrington feature which will be available to watch on our YouTube page, and on our website over the coming days.
Ashdale Bob
"We're hoping to run Ashdale Bob in a Novices' Chase at Galway."
Bluedrum
"She will be given an entry in the Listed Corrib Fillies Stakes, and we’ll see what the ground is like before making a decision. She was a very good second in a Group Three at Leopardstown the other day."
Broadstone
"He’s by New Bay. I’m not sure he’ll end up running at Galway. He’s going to have a racecourse gallop and we’ll decide after that."
Camelot Alexander
"If she comes on well over the next few days, she’ll run in a handicap at Galway over 1m1f."
Curvature
"She’ll also have an entry in the Listed Corrib Fillies Stakes, but she likes soft ground. She had her comeback run the other day in the Group Three Brownstown Stakes, and that run was her first outing since last October, so she should come on for it."
Endless Pursuit
"She will run in the 1m4f maiden for horses aged four-years-old and over. She ran very well in the Corinthian Challenge Charity Race at the Curragh on Saturday when finishing third."
Going Remote
"He’s in the 1m4f Guinness Handicap on Friday, and that looks a good race for him. He won the Ulster Derby two starts ago and is in great form."
Improvista
"She might get an entry in the 1m4f fillies’ maiden. We’ll see how she comes on this week."
It'sonlyjustbegun
"She’s unlikely to run at Galway as she ran at the weekend."
Jerrari
"He’s a fine, big horse by Order Of St George. He may get an entry in a bumper, but we’ll probably run him after Galway instead. He’s very nice and he’s from the family of Jezki, Jelona, Jesina and all that family."
Kinesiology
"He’s unlikely to run at the Galway Festival. He runs this weekend at Gowran Park."
Kings Time
"He’s probably unlikely to run at Galway. He could get an entry in the 7f 0-95 handicap on the Saturday, though. We’ll wait and see. It will depend on the ground."
Live Like The Boss
"She’shad one run, at Leopardstown, and she’s another possibility for Galway. We’ll see how she works beforehand and decide then."
Loch Tay
"He was second first time out, and only just got beat. He’ll most likely go for the 7f maiden for colts and geldings."
Matter Of Fact
"She might run at Galway, we haven’t decided yet. We’ll see how she comes on again from her last run and then make a decision."
Mo Ghille Mar
"She will run in the 1m4f handicap on the Monday. That’s for three-year-old’s only that are rated up to 90."
Old Sea
"He’ll be running in a maiden at Galway. He was given a mark (71) the other day and will receive an entry in a maiden, and in the three-year-old only handicap over a mile. He was a fast finisher after a bit of time off at Killarney this month, and we’ll see which option looks best closer to the time."
Pigeon House
"He's set to run in a handicap hurdle on the Friday."
Polar Bear
"He’s running on Wednesday, but might still run at Galway as well, though."
Realt Na Ri
"She will have an entry in the fillies’ maiden for three-year-old’s only. Both her and Riveria Queen will receive entries for that race."
Riviera Queen
"I’m going to run her in the 1m4f fillies’ maiden for three-year-old’s only."
Serialise
"She’ll probably run in a 7f handicap, or a mile handicap. We haven’t decided yet. It will depend on the ground for her."
Starry Desert
"He’s a fine, big colt by Sea The Moon. He ran the other day when fourth at Killarney and could easily go for the median auction maiden over a mile."
Thrifty Of Digby
"She might run in the 45-65 handicap over 1m1f. She’ll also wear blinkers for the first time."
Tunnel Of Love
"He might run in a maiden hurdle at the Galway Festival, but I think it’s unlikely at this stage."
Yashin
"He could easily run in the Conditions race as he needs to get back running before he goes to York for the Ebor."
A few other names to note:
“Most of our two-year-old’s will receive entries. Kurrawa is another name to note, and Gloriously Glam will receive an entry in the nursery on the Saturday.
"Golden Lady and Marazion, who is by Sea The Stars and is a half-sister to Trevaunance, is another one to look out for.
"Kodilicious is unlikely to be entered, though, and likewise Lady O."
