Top tipster Dave Nevison has three bets for Thursday's racing action at Catterick which will be shown live on Racing TV.
NOW A NON-RUNNER
He has certainly seemed to enjoy the move to Sam England’s yard and has run three good races in similar low-grade staying events to this.
He might have been an unlucky loser when he fell two out at Doncaster on his debut for his trainer but made amends on his next start before finishing a good second over this course and distance last time out.
He stayed on off a slow pace on his latest outing and he will be better suited if the pace is stronger here, which seems possible.
It also certainly seems as though a wind operation has worked for him, as well as the application of a tongue tie and cheekpieces, and in identical conditions to last time, a good run off just a 1lb higher mark looks assured.
This eight-runner handicap will have a very short-priced favourite in David Pipe’s Sidi Ismael, who is seeking a four-timer, and holds obvious claims.
However, his cramped price might mean it is better to look for one to be placed behind him. Supreme Escape has been very highly tried since he won a marathon slog at Chepstow last March and hasn’t proved up to a higher grade by some way.
However, he drops back down to a reasonable level here and is in the weights for the first time since that win.
His trainer, Evan Williams, is having a great time at present and is an excellent placer of staying handicappers plus looks to have found the right race here.
James Bowen, who won on the selection last season, is back on board here, and he is worth chancing at double-figure odds.
