Top tipster Dave Nevison marks your card for the action at Chelmsford on Thursday, live on Racing TV.
We have a seven-race card from Chelmsford to look forward to on Racing TV on Thursday evening and I am hoping that two placepot bankers might gain an overdue win. Best of luck!
I am happy to stick with the Mark and Billy Loughnane combo in this āHands And Heelsā Apprentice Handicap, with both the trainer and young jockey being very much in form.
Billy Loughnane is vastly the most experienced in this field of riders, and I suspect he is the best, too, so could hand his consistent mount an advantage here.
El Hombre was unlucky in running last time and would have finished closer but for meeting trouble in running. He doesnāt get his head in front too often but runs consistently and I am hoping the crack apprentice can make the difference here.
This six-year-old is pretty much a placepot banker when he runs but might have finally found a race he can win here.
He has not finished out of the first four since joining Mick Appleby recently and it would be very unusual if the All-Weather Champion Trainer canāt get a win out of him.
The selection didnāt improve for the headgear last time out and cheekpieces are dispensed with here, but he probably ran his best race recently when second over course and distance in November.
He is nicely drawn in stall three and doesnāt have to get into a battle for the lead in a race that looks set to be strongly run, so Ali Rawlinson should be able to hold a prominent position without draining reserves.
Despite lots of placed efforts, I am not concerned about his attitude and the selection certainly deserves another win.
Night Traveller earned a rating of 65 when running exclusively on the all-weather for Chelsea Banham last season and was subsequently moved to Tony Carroll.
The Night Of Thunder filly was obviously thought to have a degree of ability as she was very well backed on two of the three occasions she ran on turf for a yard that is no stranger to landing a punt in a low-grade handicap.
She showed virtually nothing on those outings but has been persevered with and returned to action at Southwell in December where she finished last.
However, she was keen early there plus also got hampered when weakening before being eased off. To say she shaped with promise there might be an exaggeration, but Carroll has been a good operator at this level for a very long time, and any angle is interesting in this sort of race.
This filly has dropped 13lb since her handicap debut, too, and I have a hunch a decent run is due soon.
