Horse racing tips: Sunday picks for Thirsk and Salisbury

Fight For You finished seventh there after running green and finding plenty of trouble in running. 

This is a strong fillies' novice with some nice types, but John and Thady Gosden have a smart prospect in the shape of this filly, who has a classy pedigree and could make into a useful performer. 

He goes well at this track - his last two wins have come here - and he is handicapped to win again. 

Creoso Cymraeg gets to race off 77 now and his win here last year came off 79. 

He looked ready to win when finishing fifth in a Windsor handicap last time out, travelling strongly and making eye-catching headway into contention before tiring in the closing stages. 

He looks sure to run well in a contest that will not take much winning.  

A proper test of stamina at a mile and a half looks sure to suit this progressive handicapper. 

Align The Stars was unsuited by a stop-start gallop last time out at Hamilton Park, where he was outpaced before staying on strongly into third. That small field did not play to his strengths either and a stiffer test in a more competitive race looks likely to suit. 

Trainer Charlie Johnston has his horses in tremendous form and Align The Stars looks primed for a big effort.  

An official mark of 80 underestimates him and he can take advantage here.  

American Affair came up against a Group horse in a handicap when he bumped into at last time out, but he was hampered that day and would have finished closer if he had got a clearer run. 

His previous start saw him bolt up at in a fast time and, despite defeat last time out, he still looks thoroughly progressive.
