Watch Richard Hoiles's full interview with Harry Bentley after the 24-year-old rider was given back the ride aboard Limato on Monday.
“Obviously The Tin Man got the better of him. It was basically his first run of the season but he lost nothing in defeat. He goes to Newmarket in fantastic form.
“Fingers crossed he will get his conditions. Newmarket handles the rain very well so if they di get a bit during the week hopefully it will dry out. We want quick conditions but he does not need it rock solid or anything.
“The Newmarket July course has been very lucky for me, I’ve had a good few winners there, and I enjoy riding the track. It is not the easiest of courses so I think we know he has got course form is a big plus.
“The three-year-olds are a very strong bunch. With the likes of Caravaggio, Harry Angel and Blue Point they are three very good young sprinters and will make their mark in the division. Caravaggio is a tough opponent, has done nothing wrong and is a bit of a monster.”
Jacobs believes that Limato is in rude health ahead of his repeat bid.
He said: "It would be nice to think that they can go back to the future after what happened in the race last year.
"We basically made the same mistake twice by sending him abroad for the Breeders' Cup and then to Dubai.
"After Dubai, the wheels came off both physically and mentally and at one stage we didn't know if we were going to get him back on track.
"I thought it might be better, rightly or wrongly, to have a different jockey on him at Ascot as each have their own riding styles and I didn't want it to be Dubai mark two.
"That race showed us he got his mojo back and he has been in great form since then. I went and spoke to Harry this morning and and talked it through with him.
"Harry is a perfect gent and I could not speak more highly of him. After he rode an across-the-card treble on Saturday, I sent him my congratulations and said to my wife 'I think I want him back'.
"I think he was pleased, if not delighted, at the reinstatement. I am looking forward to running against the first and second in the Diamond Jubilee and the first and second from the Commonwealth Cup.
"It will be some race and with this Irish wonder horse, it takes the pressure off us, which is nice."
