Top tipster Dave Nevison shares his four best bets on Saturday, with three selections coming from Haydock - live on Racing TV.
12.45 Haydock: Flying Fortune
This mare beat a very strong field when she won the Persian War at Cheltenham in autumn 2024 and, even though she has won plenty of races, she has always been underrated by the handicapper in my opinion.
She must have sustained an injury after that Chepstow race and has been absent until this spring, and has clearly been running herself back into form on three runs so far.
The Bowen mare has dropped 6lb in those runs and showed clear signs of coming back to form last time with a good run at Perth.
The step up to three miles looks set to suit
Flying Fortune very well and I am taking the application of cheekpieces for the first time as a positive step.
1.15 Haydock: Frontier Prince
The Swinton is always a very competitive end of/start of season handicap and, with several of the front of the market horses having question marks about them, I am happy to go for an each-way pick at a price in this year’s renewal.
Fergal O’Brien’s gelding is mostly very reliable and has been placed on most of his runs in handicaps since he won his novice last autumn. He ran possibly his best race over this course and distance last time when finishing a close-up fourth.
He was caught a little too far back in that race, but was staying on well, if hanging a little left, and it will certainly suit him to be in a fast run race here.
The addition of cheekpieces might also help keep Frontier Prince straight in the closing stages and hopefully he can stay on into an extra place at a price.

3.10 Ascot: Mudbir
A line can be put through Mudbir's final start last season as he was trapped wide throughout at Goodwood, and may have had enough for the season.
Until that run, he had looked most progressive, including in big field handicaps, and is the obvious choice in this traditional cavalry charge.
The Gosden-trained colt can be expected to improve again as a four-year-old if taking after several progressive types in his pedigree, and could well make up to a smart performer this summer.
Although Ryan Moore mopped up at Chester this week, some of the rides Oisin Murphy gave us were fantastic and he rates a more than worthy replacement for the sidelined Jim Crowley.
Mubdir has a nice draw in stall 19 and the stable are also in excellent form, so he looks a very obvious choice for this.
4.15 Haydock: City Captain
The Harriet Bethell yard couldn’t be in much better form and City Captain certainly looks poised to add another win for the stable pretty soon.
The gelding won four times last season, progressing throughout, and after a quiet comeback run, he hit top form again last time out when second at Thirsk.
He is lucky to be running off the same mark this afternoon as running Murasah to two lengths will probably look like a very strong effort in time.
Kevin Stott seemed to get on very well with City Captain last time and the partnership look to have a real opportunity in this finale.
