David Dunsdon hoping Redhotfillypeppers can burn off Sandown rivals

Redhotfillypeppers puts her unbeaten record on the line in the EBF Stallions/TBA Mares' Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race at Sandown on Saturday.The daughter of Robin Des Champs was snapped up for £200,000 after impressing in an Irish point-to-point last May and justified odds-on favouritism on her debut for Willie Mullins in a Punchestown bumper on New Year's Eve.The interestingly-named mare steps up to Listed class this weekend for a race Mullins won with Babylone Des Motte two years ago and ownerDavid Dunsdon takes the ride. Dunsdon said: "She's a nice mare who won well at Punchestown, so we'll see how we get on. "She was named before I bought her, but whoever did name her obviously has good taste in music!"When I was riding in France and Willie had runners over there we used to talk afterwards and it's just a privilege to have horses with him and to go to to his yard."He does so many things with excellence and it's not until you go over there that you realise why he is such a brilliant trainer."Redhotfillypeppers is one of two Irish challengers in a 10-strong field, with Mags Mullins saddling Martello Park.The five-year-old was placed on her first three starts before bolting up by 21 lengths at Thurles last month. "She's an improving filly and if she could run into a place we'll be delighted," said Mullins. "She's a very laid-back filly, so we put cheekpieces on her the last day to sharpen her up and it seemed to help."She only does what she has to do and it looks a good race on Saturday, so we'll see what happens.If she can finish third, we'll be happy." Fergal O'Brien fires a twin assault, with Oscar Rose and Cap Soleil both previous winners at this level. O'Brien said: "Both of them have won their Listed race and we're looking forward to running the two of them. "Cap Soleil loves soft, heavy ground, while Oscar Rose would probably prefer better ground."Cap Soleil's form is good, with the filly she beat at Cheltenham (Daphne Du Clos) coming out and winning a Listed bumper at Newbury."Hopefully they'll both run well and then we can look towards Aintree or Punchestown."The Nicky Richards-trained Illwalktheline journeys south from Cumbria following successive wins at Carlisle and Newcastle. "We're trying to get a bit of black type and we'll see how it goes," said the Greystoke-based trainer. "She's a Presenting mare and they normally prefer better ground, but to her credit, she seems to have handled soft ground quite well."She seems to stay very well, so if she's there turning for home, whatever beats her will know they've had a race anyway."I think we'll probably see a better mare next season when she steps up to two and a half or three miles on a bit better ground."Warren Greatrex struck gold with The Nipper 12 months ago and has another major contender in Petticoat Tails.Just A Thought, Lady Valerie, Molly Childers and Whatzdjazz complete the line-up.
