Our in-form betting expert likes a pair at Newmarket, plus has selections at Ripon and Market Rasen.
2.05 Newmarket: Good Karma
Good Karma has been beaten almost 60 lengths in his two runs since leaving James Ferguson, so it is hardly the most encouraging start for his new stable.
However, it is possible to make a positive case for the four-year-old if you don a pair of rose-tinted spectacles and at 25/1 he is worth a few bob in this novelty handicap exclusively for greys.
He made the running over a mile - something he had never done before - and was too keen on his first start for James Owen and then last time over 7f he stumbled at Sandown.
He ran quite an encouraging race over this trip at York last summer and is worth another try at the trip.
James Owen has his string in decent form and runs this horse just over a week after he seemingly went wrong last time, so Good Karma is obviously none the worse. I am obviously hoping this one lives up to his name and delivers some cash.

3.20 Ripon: Secret Guest
Ripon is a course I have always found pretty tough for punting purposes even though I loved going there loads of times on coach trips as a kid.
Nowadays, this is usually the only Ripon race I try to solve and will be chuffed if Secret Guest can win it.
Bryan Smart’s gelding looks to have a decent draw in stall 5 as low numbers are generally favoured in this race. There looks to be plenty of pace among them, so I am hoping Secret Guest can sit in a good position just behind a strong pace before pouncing.
This is his second run after a wind operation, and he ran an encouraging race last time. If he has gained confidence with his breathing, then can go close here.
4.55 Newmarket: Come On You Spurs
Come On You Spurs looks a much-improved performer this season even though she couldn’t follow up her Lingfield win last time under a penalty.
She was beaten less than a length into third place at Leicester but the winner has gone in again since and the second, who was a nose in front, has won twice since, so the form looks strong for the grade.
The three-year-olk gets on well with Billy Loughnane, who has ridden her on her past two starts. Hopefully, the wonderkid will manage to get his mount tucked in from stall one and Richard Spencer’s three-year-old can resume winning ways against her own sex.
6.20 Market Rasen: Royal Pretender
I went in a race too early on Royal Pretender when he reappeared off a handy mark at Uttoxeter and I missed him when he won last time out, which is annoying.
He ran an encouraging race at Uttoxeter and it was not surprising to see him win last time. Even after going back up to a mark of 120, he is still well-in on his old form.
Alan King’s eight-year-old has had a mixed couple of seasons with a failed campaign over fences and an absence due to injury but he does look to be on song again and may finally be living up to what was a promising start to his career. Trip and ground look ideal.
