Dave Nevison's Thursday tips: "this is an ideal opportunity"

Top tipster Dave Nevison has three best bets across three different meetings on Thursday, including fancies at Beverley and Salisbury - both live on Racing TV.
3.45 Beverley: American Bay
Jason Hart is my go to jockey for Northern sprint handicaps and was the last rider to win on American Bay.
He has been beaten on the Paul Midgley-trained gelding in one subsequent ride, but that came in a very competitive York handicap over six furlongs.
The five-year-old has been dropped to a 0-75 for the first time this season and this was the grade in which American Bay last won. At a track that will suit, this looks an ideal opportunity to score again.
6.41 Windsor: Knights Gold
Tom Ward may well have picked up a horse who is ready to win handicaps again and Knights Gold can make a winning stable debut.
He won five times last season and, although has struggled against the handicapper for most of 2026, he is now back to a mark below his latest win.
Knights Gold ran well on his penultimate start, but then nothing went right last time at Chester where he was denied a run more or less throughout. The trip and ground are ideal and, if he has settled into new surroundings, he should at least go close.

7.34 Salisbury: Ruby Wedding
This is a really competitive fillies' handicap with several last time out winners in the field. Andrew Balding’s Ruby Wedding got beaten narrowly last time in a similarly hot race at Newcastle, and might be the one in the field who is massively on the up.
She had previously won a small race at Hamilton and really stepped up last time on what was only her fourth run. She looks as though she may well have more to come.
The trip is fine and Alfie Redman’s 7lb claim more than offsets the lenient 3lb rise since last time.
