Wednesday tips: Dave Nevison has three best bets

Top tipster Dave Nevison has a trio of selections at Beverley and Kempton on Wednesday, with every contest live on Racing TV.
3.45 Beverley: Obelix
Obelix is hardly the most consistent of horses, but he has only raced in a 0-80 grade twice since joining Julie Camacho, winning once and getting a dreadful passage in a big field on the other occasion. He has also won twice in much higher grades and is very capable on his day.
The booking of Jason Hart really takes my eye and a low draw might well be an advantage, especially in a race where they are set to go off very quickly.
He has been dropped 2lb for two modest runs recently, but things could be teed up nicely for the six-year-old here.

4.45 Beverley: Qila
Qila has run a couple of good races recently when placed at Thirsk and Newcastle, and the way he was staying on last time suggests he will be suited by a stiff five furlongs such as here at Beverley.
The tongue strap that was applied last time seemed to work, so it looks a positive that Brian Ellison is sticking with it. Qila is off the same mark and is definitely capable of winning a race from the low 70s.
6.30 Kempton: Orchid
George Boughey has tried this lightly-raced filly a few times at seven furlongs and she hasn’t convinced, often pulling hard and being too free. However she came back after a two-month break last time out and the signs were better.
If that run has taken the freshness out of Orchid then I think she could prove a well handicapped filly. Her pedigree suggests strongly that this should be her trip and with such a talented trainer/jockey combo I am happy to give her one roll of the dice.
