Dave Nevison has been in great form this week, tipping two winners (at 9-2 and 5-2) on Tuesday, then his nap of the day, Indian Run (9-2), scored on Wednesday! Dave also selected 5-1 winner Initial Blue on Thursday. Our top tipster has four bets to Saturday's action across Newmarket and Beverley, live on Racing TV.
3.15 Newmarket: Klassleader
I was so impressed with Klassleader’s win at York in May that I have made him my firm favourite to win the Sky Bet Ebor in August, and have backed him accordingly.
I half expected him to head straight there, thus preserving his handicap mark as his win meant he was guaranteed a slot in the York showpiece.
Haggas has clearly decided his four-year-old needs another run, and this rearranged Betway Old Newton Cup looks the perfect stepping stone.
He has been raised 8lb for that convincing win, but I am confident Klassleader has tons more improvement in him, and is still very well handicapped (his dam was a late-maturing type who was rated 113).
Although he will definitely benefit from the step up to the Sky Bet Ebor trip, I think he has enough ability to win again over 1m4f. Certainly, if he can’t win this, my ante-post York punt might be fanciful!
3.50 Newmarket: Rajaking
Rajaking was a narrowly-beaten second on the July course twice last season when trained by Stuart Williams, and clearly handles this track well.
He is now with the underrated T J Kent, and looks to have been running himself into form for his new handler while dropping in the weights at the same time.
He is 5lb lower than his latest good run over course and distance, and with an additional 3lb taken off by excellent claimer Jack Callan, he is arguably thrown in. I expect a very good run.

4.25 Newmarket: Silver Ghost
Silver Ghost was withdrawn late in the day in a similar handicap recently, but hopefully will be ready to do her best again on Saturday afternoon.
She certainly looked a four-year-old poised to win soon when she finished runner-up over the Rowley Mile last time out after being dropped out, and just failed to get up.
The selection has been raised 2lb for that unlucky run, but if the race had gone better, she would have gone up significantly more.
Her recent good runs at Newmarket have come on the Rowley Mile, but she ran very well on the July Course as a two-year-old, so I am happy that she will be just as good here.
5.10 Beverley: It Just Takes Time
This is a competitive handicap for the grade, but Mark Walford’s veteran gelding has plenty going for him, despite carrying top weight.
He was just touched off at Thirsk last time out after leading until the shadow of the post, and he has run himself into form gradually this season plus his past two runs have been strong.
From stall three, Jack Garritty looks certain to be able to get him across to lead, and that can be a decisive factor here. While It Just Takes Time has dropped in the weights, his two main rivals might have just reached their peak, and be in the assessor’s grip now.
