Gary Moore has hit the headlines with fantastic victories over Christmas ridden by young jockeys attached to his yard, and under his excellent tutelage. The eye is drawn to Parikarma down at the bottom of the weights here, especially as he's ridden by 10lb claimer Rob Hargreaves who has rode an impressive four winners from 33 rides exclusively for Moore. 

The young rider has recorded several places as well, and part of the success of Moore’s proteges is that they are obviously put on horses with chances so they can develop as riders. 

Hargreaves was on board Parikarma when she finished a good second in what might have been a strong Conditional Jockeys' Handicap at Doncaster.

While she's clearly only a modest performer, Parikarma has still managed to win her share of races on the Flat, and she has won over hurdles. Off the same mark as last time here , she has an obvious chance to win and provide her young jockey with a Saturday afternoon winner.

Kerry Lee's horses must always to be considered when the mud is flying, and this season is no exception. She's had three winners on soft or heavy ground in the second half of December and has her runners in excellent form. 

Atlanta Brave signalled he was about to hit form with a good run at Exeter on soft ground last time out, and two that finished behind him have come out and won next time, so the form looks decent. 

That was only Atlanta Brave’s second run over fences and it is obviously possible that he will improve, although I acknowledge Newbury represents a bigger test in this famous handicap. 

The selection won his only point-to point start and won two of his three outings over hurdles last season. He could be quite a decent staying prospect.

Harry Kimber has enjoyed a good Christmas having ridden a couple of winners over the Festive period, including one for Neil Mulholland, and is on one with a real chance here. 

Concrete King was beaten just over a length at Southwell last time out and might very well have won if he had been put into the race earlier. He is a maiden over both hurdles and fences but seems to have returned this season in decent form, and has run with credit off much higher marks in the past. 

The addition of a tongue tie as well as the cheekpieces he usually goes with seemed to make a difference last time out, and if it works again, he should finally be able to break his duck here.

Jamie Snowden looks to have another promising young chaser on his hands and this six-year-old looks good enough to score again here. He finished a good second at Ascot on his chasing debut and although he only won a five-runner event last time out at Lingfield by a length, the runner-up has since scored twice, and it looked like a very good performance. 

Passing Well was a consistent young hurdler in just five runs over the smaller obstacles after heading over from Ireland. He won twice last season over hurdles and is already better over fences, so off a 3lb higher mark than when winning last time, he must have a great chance here. 

Gavin Sheehan has won on him for all his victories and keeps the ride again, which is a positive.
