Danny Tudhope bags Redcar hat-trick

Danny Tudhope took the riding honours at Redcar with a 235-1 treble on Ventura Royal, Quatrieme Ami and Fire Leopard.

David O'Meara's Ventura Royal (5-1) got the ball rolling when taking division two of the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes by a length and a quarter from 33-1 outsider Sunstorm.

Tudhope was at his strongest on the Charlie McBride-trained Quatrieme Ami (13-8 favourite) as he held See The Sun by a head in the Watch Racing UK In HD Handicap.

O'Meara provided the third leg in the shape of Fire Leopard (14-1), who was a head winner from Desert Ruler in the Racing UK Profits Returned To Racing Handicap.

Jack Garritty was hit with nine-day ban for using his whip above the permitted level when partnering Echo to victory in the Wise Betting At racinguk.com Nursery Handicap.

Jedd O'Keeffe's youngster prevailed by a short head over Ventura Crest at odds of 16-1.

O'Keeffe was also on target with 11-10 favourite Candelisa, ridden by Graham Lee, in the Bet At racinguk.com Selling Stakes.

Candelisa was sold for £19,000 at the subsequent auction.
