Chepstow announces precautionary inspection

Fri 20 Jan 2017

This afternoon's National Hunt meeting at Chepstow must pass an impromptu 9am precautionary inspection.

The Monmouthshire circuit had a "light overnight frost", with temperatures set to drop to as low as minus 3C throughout the morning.

But with things set to warm up significantly by midday, a statement issued by Chepstow said that the prospects of racing going ahead were "very positive".

The going is soft, heavy in places, with the six-race card set to begin at 1.40pm.
