Jacob was cautioned with no further action taken by a disciplinary panel of the British Horseracing Authority on Thursday following an incident at Cheltenham last month.
Jacob was alleged to have shouted at amateur Noel George and momentarily grabbed his silks following the Brandon Hill Capital Handicap Hurdle. Jacob had finished 13th of the 21 starters on Creep Desbois, with George, who claims 7lb, third on KK Lexion.
Jacob was unhappy at the riding of Noel George at Cheltenham last month
George had made a move up Jacob's inside, but darted back on to the track proper as a rail approached, taking the ground of Creep Desbois which may have contributed to the fall of Cake De L'Isle, whose jockey
Aidan Coleman was trampled on by KK Lexion.
On the day the Cheltenham stewards cautioned George and also spoke to Jacob about what they had seen on the walkway, but he was not formally punished.
The disciplinary panel concluded that "the physical act of grabbing Mr George by the shoulder in the aggressive way that he did was unacceptable and improper and thus a breach", but that there was "substantial mitigation".
It said: "We do not conclude that the mere use of strong words and gesticulation by Mr Jacob in all the circumstances can amount to improper conduct. But, we do conclude that the physical act of grabbing Mr George by the shoulder in the aggressive way that he did was unacceptable and improper and thus a breach.
"We do, however, conclude that in all the circumstances there is substantial mitigation - Mr Jacob's concern was always the safety of his colleagues and the horses. Since the race the parties have spoken together and are on good terms.
"It is to be encouraged that respected and experienced jockeys like Mr Jacob should have avuncular words of guidance with younger colleagues. But this should never be accompanied by any aggression.
"We are aware of the guidelines but in all the circumstances we find it sufficient to caution Mr Jacob as to his future conduct."
