Alex Scott has three early fancies for this Saturday's action at Newbury, including in the BOYLE Sports Lockinge Stakes and the hugely competitive London Gold Cup Handicap.
At the time of writing there are three fillies shorter in the market than
ALLAIRE for the Listed Childwickbury Stud Fillies' Trial Stakes on Saturday, and unlike the selection, they have all won.
However, Andrew Balding’s charge has finished second behind two promising fillies and has progressed nicely so far. Her latest effort came when chasing home Oaks candidate I’m The One last month, so she has course experience and arrives here race fit.
Her trainer is also in flying form, and the combination of Balding and jockey Oisin Murphy do well at
Newbury – the RaceiQ data shows us that they have an Average Over Expected (A/E) of 1.48 and 1.66 respectively at the Berkshire venue.
The two market leaders look promising and could also improve, but they are there to take on at their current odds with not an especially high level of form. As such this race may not take as much winning as usual and Allaire could be up to the task. She will have learnt plenty last time and the current 8-1 makes appeal.

The Group One BOYLE Sports Lockinge Stakes takes centre stage at 2.25 and the talented, progressive
DAMYSUS still makes appeal at 5-2.
He is a somewhat unoriginal selection but the son of Frankel is unbeaten in three starts since his disappointment in last year's Derby and undoubtedly arrives at Newbury off the back of a career-best effort at Newmarket.
On what was his seasonal debut, John and Thady Gosden's colt travelled well and quickened clear in the style of a future top-level winner, stopping the clock almost a second faster than the Feilden Stakes won by Morshdi over the same course and distance 35 minutes earlier.
He finished almost four lengths clear of nearest pursuer King's Gambit and five and half ahead of top-weight Cambridgeshire winner Boling Point, and this was despite giving them both 3lb.
This drop a furlong in trip should be no issue to a horse with plenty of speed and he can extend his winning sequence to four for his in-form yard.
The striking Damysus destroyed his rival at Newmarket. Will he leave his rivals toiling again at Newbury on Saturday afternoon?
The trickiest race of the day looks to be the Trade Nation London Gold Cup Handicap over a mile and a quarter.
At the time of writing it is 5-1 the field and, whilst the market leader My Love Is King has a solid chance having finished second in Listed company at the Guineas meeting, I would prefer to side with William Haggas's handicap debutant
PRINCLING at a point bigger.
Rated 87, he could be miles ahead of this mark should he get this new trip, and he certainly ought to being out of the Stakes-performing Frankel mare Frankellina, whom Haggas trained to finish second in the Musidora at York.
A son of Kingman, he finished second on both of his starts as a two-year-old over seven furlongs, and the form of his Newmarket run has worked out well.
The Group One-entered winner Yazin has since bolted up by three and a half lengths, whilst the third, fourth, fifth and sixth have all since won. Even the 11th, 12th and 14th-placed finishers have won six races between them subsequently.
Princling got off the mark comfortably at short odds (slow pace) when stepped up to a mile last time on his seasonal debut, and that run should have him fully tuned up for this assignment. With an increased test of stamina, it is one he ought to relish.
Saturday selections:
2.00 Newbury: back
ALLAIRE at a general 8-1.
2.35 Newbury: back DAMYSUS at a general 5-2.
3.45 Newbury: back PRINCLING at 6-1 with Betfred, Coral and Ladbrokes.
