Bryony Frost ‘badly bruised’ after Newton Abbot fall

Jockey Bryony Frost appears to have escaped serious injury following a nasty fall at Newton Abbot on Friday.
The Grade One-winning rider was partnering Billy My Boy in a conditional jockeys’ hurdle when her saddle slipped and she was unseated between the final two flights.
Frost was stood on by an oncoming horse and although she walked away from the incident, she was taken to Torbay Hospital for further assessment.
Speaking on Saturday morning, the jockey’s father, trainer Jimmy Frost, said: “They kept her in overnight as she was quite sore and they thought she’d be more comfortable there, rather than trying to bring her home late at night.
“Another horse stood on right on her tummy, but they’ve given her a thorough check-up and it looks like it’s just badly bruised.
“I’d imagine she’ll come home later today. She was sat up in bed last night saying she had no rides on Saturday and might give Sunday a miss but she wanted to make it back for Worcester on Monday.”
