Katie Midwinter's Friday tips: six each-way bets, including at 50-1 and 40-1

Our top tipster struck with Voice Of Reason (40-1 SP!) on Tuesday and a couple of big-priced fancies are among her e/w selections for Friday's action across Newmarket and York, live on Racing TV.

2.10 York: Tilted Kilt (e/w)
Four-year-old gelding Tilted Kilt won on reappearance at Southwell earlier this term and is only 3lb higher than that now. He hasn't been able to build on that outing in two subsequent runs, but could be capable of a resurgence and is dropping in class from his latest appearance at Sandown.
When last seen, the son of Persian King attempted to make all but couldn't sustain his effort from the front in the straight, sent off at odds of 33-1. He could fare much better here and is on a workable mark should he bounce back, with many of his better performances coming when ridden colder, which could be an effective tactic here.
William Knight's runners have been in decent form of late and Hector Crouch has ridden a winner and two third-placed horses in four rides for the yard this year. Tilted Kilt could put in a promising effort at the early 40-1 available.
2.45 York: Royal Fixation (e/w)
Course-and-distance winner Royal Fixation could spring a small surprise in this Group Three which features a number of classy fillies and mares. She makes the most appeal at the prices, a general 6-1 chance, as she is the least exposed and could be capable of taking a significant step forward for her return to action against the boys at Newbury.
This is only her second run for Karl Burke in the colours of Ace Stud, and she may be able to show further progression now with a recent run in her favour this season.
As a juvenile last year, the Palace Pier filly shaped with great potential, only narrowly denied by Venetian Sun in the Group Two Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes this weekend at the July Festival following a debut success at Thirsk. She then went on to claim Group Two honours of her own before finishing a creditable third to future Classic winner True Love in the Group One Cheveley Park Stakes.
Whilst she has to prove she has trained on enough to compete with a recent Commonwealth Cup second in Spicy Marg and the experienced five-year-old Flora Of Bermuda, among other talented rivals, Royal Fixation is a fascinating runner in a first-time tongue-tie along with cheekpieces, and could make the frame, holding strong each-way claims on her juvenile form.

3.00 Newmarket: Real Dream (e/w)
At huge odds of 40-1, Ian Williams-trained Real Dream shouldn't be completely discounted as he's far from a forlorn hope at the best of his ability. He's winless since an Ascot success from a 6lb lower mark for former trainer Sir Michael Stoute three years ago, but has since put in a number of competitive performances including when beaten only half-a-length by Coltrane in Listed company last summer and when a close fourth to Sons And Lovers in a Riyadh Group Two handicap in February.
The seven-year-old is 6lb lower than when an excellent fifth to subsequent Breeders' Cup winner Ethical Diamond in last year's Ebor at York, which followed a creditable third in this contest when outrunning odds of 11-1 to place behind Oneforthegutter.
With proven form in the race over course-and-distance, and on a workable rating under 3lb claiming Ryan Kavanagh, the likeable contender could be capable of a resurgence and warrants each-way consideration at a generous price.
3.00 Newmarket: Roaring Legend (e/w)
Likeable gelding Roaring Legend is another strong stayer who warrants consideration in this competitive handicap. He finished fourth in the contest last year when on the same mark of 103 before going on to finish a close third in the competitive 13-runner Mallard Handicap at Doncaster at odds of 16-1.
At the beginning of the year, the six-year-old performed well in his first couple of starts for Olly Murphy having left the Hugo Palmer yard, finishing second twice behind Ribble Vibe and Enemy respectively. Wind surgery followed a disappointing effort in Listed company at Musselburgh, and he's entitled to shape better than when last seen behind Gregory at York in his second run following his operation.
On his return to handicap company, Roaring Legend could be capable of a bold showing under Colin Keane and makes each-way appeal at the early 40-1 available.
6.15 Cork: Theanniversary Man (e/w)
Course winner Theanniversary Man is one to note for trainer James Barcoe under Kevin Sexton in this extended 2m1f handicap hurdle.
He's 9lb higher than when winning a competitive 24-runner contest at this track last winter but could still be open to further improvement and shaped with promise at odds of 18-1 when last seen at Sligo.
In his latest run, the son of French Navy stayed on well to finish fourth behind Timurshah over this trip. He's 1lb higher here but remains on a workable mark based on that effort and may be worth keeping onside currently.
6.32 Kilbeggan: Moonovercloon (e/w - currently a reserve)
In the Kilbeggan feature, the Listed Kilmurray Group Midlands National Handicap Chase, Moonovercloon could make it third time lucky in the race at a track where he recorded his first career success in a bumper back in 2022.
The likeable gelding was sent off at odds of 7-2, well-backed when falling early on in the 2024 renewal before being beaten in third as the 4-1 favourite twelve months ago in the race won by Amirite. He's 7lb lower rated this time around with capable 5lb claimer Michael Kenneally in the plate, making appeal at the weights should he return to form.
In recent outings, the nine-year-old hasn't been seen at his best but he's making only his second start for his new trainer Declan Queally, having left Matthew Smith, and is entitled to come on for his recent run at this venue on yard debut following a 244-day absence.
If getting into the race (currently second reserve), Moonovercloon represents value at odds of 14-1 and could be able to show significant improvement on recent form.
