Betfred resumes sponsorship at Haydock after four-year break

For the first time since 2018, Betfred will be returning to sponsorship at Haydock Park this summer.

Betfred, which has its principal UK bases in Warrington and Central Manchester, will generously extend its support to a significant portion of the summer 2022 schedule at Haydock Park, beginning with the three-day Betfred Summer Social, which gets underway with Betfred Afternoon Racing on Thursday 26th May and concludes on Saturday 28th May with Betfred Sparkling Saturday.

The highlight on Betfred Sparkling Saturday is the Group Three Betfred John of Gaunt Stakes. The 2021 renewal of this seven-furlong contest went to Kinross, trained by Ralph Beckett and partnered by Frankie Dettori, who went on to annex the Group Two Lennox Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on his next outing.

On Saturday 6th August, Betfred resume their sponsorship of Betfred Rose of Lancaster Carnival Day. Taking centre stage on this feature summer Saturday is the Group Three Betfred Rose of Lancaster Stakes. Run over an extended 10 furlongs for three year olds and upwards, the best winner of this race in recent is Addeybb (2019), who has gone on to win three Group One races in Australia as well as the Group One QIPCO Champion Stakes at Ascot in 2020.

In addition, the full race cards at the extensive summer programme of Music Nights at both Haydock Park and Aintree will once again be sponsored by Betfred, beginning with Nile Rogers and Chic at Aintree on Friday 10th June. At Haydock Park, Brit Award-winning Paloma Faith takes to the stage on Friday 1st July. Madness will follow on Saturday 16th July, with Rudimental the attraction on Friday 5th August.
