Beautifully-bred Frankel filly Goldrush seeking to maintain unbeaten record

Jim Bolger is not too concerned about the drop in trip for Goldrush ahead of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Cooley Fillies Stakes at Dundalk on Friday evening.

One of the most regally-bred fillies in training being by Frankel out of Alexander Goldrun, whom Bolger trained to win multiple Group Ones, she has won her first two starts in good style.

Unraced as a juvenile, Goldrush - who cost €1.7million as a yearling - struck on her debut at Navan before successfully stepping up to Listed level at Dundalk, for which she carries a 3lb penalty.

"We thought she'd win first time out, I must admit," said Bolger. "Then she stepped up nicely to win a Listed race next time. This is another Listed race, she's coming back in trip but I don't see it as a problem.

"Her debut win was over a mile, which wasn't that long ago, and then she won over 10 furlongs last time out.

"She's got a bit of a penalty as well, but it would be nice to see her win again."

Taking on Goldrush in a field of 14 is Kevin Prendergast's Aneen, Willie McCreery's Belle Boyd and Mick Halford's Hunaina.

There are two British raiders, Ralph Beckett's Crowning Glory and Richard Hannon's Peak Princess.
