3.05 Chester: Chemistry
This lightly-raced, former Listed winner dropped over 10lb in the weights during an unproductive spell with his previous trainer, but it is possible the decline may have been stemmed, based on his successful first outing for Jennie Candlish last time out.
That victory came in a low-grade maiden hurdle, but he travelled well throughout, and jumped enthusiastically on what was his debut over obstacles, and looked a horse in a good place.
He did show good form on occasions last season, and wasn’t a complete lost cause, so if he has been reinvigorated by the move to his new yard,
Chemistry could be a very well handicapped indeed, and well worth a look at chunky odds (he's 20-1, at the time of publishing).

3.40 Chester: Hoodie Hoo
Hoodie Hoo is a consistent sort, and possibly has few secrets from the handicapper, but looks to have plenty going for him here.
Charlie Hills’ sprinter finished a good second on his all-weather reappearance under Jason Watson, who has won on him in the past, when last seen.
He doesn’t need to improve much on that run to land this, and with a good draw in stall four, he looks set to go close.
4.10 Chester: Tribal Star
Irish raider Tribal Star, who is 14-1, at the time of writing, ran really well in a similar race to this over two miles in September last year, and has presumably been aiming at a return to Chester ever since.
The consistent five-year-old has been running well recently on the all-weather off a higher mark, and comes here on the back of a decent run at Newcastle last time out.
He stayed on well on both occasions - at Newcastle and his run here last year - and it appears as though he will be suited by the extra two furlongs.
Cheekpieces are reapplied for thism and his regular jockey Adam Caffrey has already done us one favour at Ayr this week.
