1.20 Navan: THE YELLOW CLAY
This useful bumper horse took well to hurdling when surging clear of his rivals in a maiden at Down Royal.
He warmed to the task as far as his jumping was concerned and the way he cruised clear of his rivals under minimal pressure suggests that he is more than worthy of this step up in trip.
2.45 Cheltenham: THE OTHER MOZZIE
Gavin Cromwell has a tremendous record with horses that he brings to Cheltenham and The Other Mozzie who was a useful hurdler can add to his record by winning this.
He won on his debut over fences at Galway and would have been placed in a rated chase back at the same track had he not unseated his rider.
A mark of 130 does not look harsh in this handicap.
2.30 Navan: AMERICAN MIKE
American Mike has won three times at Navan in the past and on his seasonal return he can go in again.
He kept very good company last season running in three Grade One contests where at times he was let down by his jumping.
However, he put up a smart effort to win a Grade Two here at Navan and this Grade Three looks to be an ideal starting point for his season in a race where he looks to be the first string from the Gordon Elliott yard.
3.30 Cheltenham: BURDETT ROAD
Off a mark of 133, Burdett Road looks well treated.
He won the Listed Godolphin stakes at Newmarket in September in a very fast time which suggests that he is an improving performer.
He won two of his three hurdle races last season before suffering an injury. His potential in this sphere remains intact with a low mark to exploit here.
