Alan King outlines running plans for Cesarewitch at Newmarket

Who Dares Wins will spearhead a two-horse raid for trainer Alan King in next month's Betfred Cesarewitch at Newmarket.

The useful dual-purpose performer set up a tilt at the two-and-a-quarter-mile test on October 7 when leading home stablemate Coeur De Lion in the Cesarewitch Trial over the course and distance on Saturday.

Although the Barbury Castle Stables handler still has four entries left in the race, he has warned the five-year-old is only likely to be joined by last year's runner-up First Mohican.

King said: "I was delighted with the result on Saturday, although we could have done with Coeur De Lion winning in a way to get a penalty as I don't think he will get in, which is a great shame.

"I don't think Oceane stays. He came there travelling well and, not for the first time, he didn't get home. We will probably look for something over a mile and three-quarters for him.

"Who Dares Wins was much better stepped back up in trip. It just happened too quick for him at Chester the time before. They went no pace and sprinted and that didn't suit him.

"He has been a great syndicate horse as he has been to all the big festivals over jumps and on the Flat.

"First Mohican will go to the Cesarewitch and will go straight there. He was second in it last year and we have just given him a little break since his run at Royal Ascot."
