Ziga Boy makes history with second Sky Bet Chase success

Ziga Boy produced a brilliant front-running display to become the first dual winner of the Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster. Alan King's grey had failed to get his head in front since his success 12 months ago in the race formerly known as the Great Yorkshire Chase, but performed well enough when third here last month to suggest his turn might not be far away.After being sent straight to the front by Tom Bellamy, Ziga Boy jumped impeccably throughout the three-mile contest and turned for home with a clear lead.Looking Well finished strongly, but Ziga Boy never looked in serious danger of being caught and came home three and a half lengths to the good.Bellamy said: "That's my first big Saturday winner, so I'm absolutely chuffed."The boss (King) has given me some good chances and it's nice to win a big one."He loves it in front and he's probably the best jumper in training."I was too fat to ride him last year, so it's nice he's gone up in the weights enough for me to get on today and it's all worked out well."Dan Downie, racing manager for owners Axom, said: "The horse just absolutely loves it in front and nothing really took him on."We're all absolutely delighted and we'll talk to Alan and see where he thinks we should go next."
