William Buick set to see doctor next week as recovery continues

William Buick was in action on the gallops in Newmarket on Thursday as he continues his recovery from injury.
Buick has been out of action since falling from the ill-fated Permian in the Secretariat Stakes in America in early August, which caused a compression of his T12 vertebra, although no surgery was required.
"William rode out this morning," said Godolphin trainer Charlie Appleby.
"He rode out a couple of lots and felt good. He has got to see the doctor next week. It is in the lap of the doctors.
"When they say he is good to go he will come back, there is no point frustrating yourself saying you are going to do this or that.
"He felt good this morning and has been going to the gym and keeping himself very fit."
A big incentive for Buick to get back in the saddle sooner, rather than later, is Ribchester, a triple Group One winner this year who is ante-post favourite for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot on October 21.
