Wetherby’s jumps card on Wednesday has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.
The West Yorkshire venue saw 11mm of rain over the last 24 hours, including 9mm overnight, meaning they needed an inspection at 8am on Wednesday morning.
With rain forecast and some areas of standing water remaining, the course failed the check and the afternoon meeting was washed out.
A post on Wetherby’s X account read: “Unfortunately, following another 11mm rain in the last 24 hours (9mm coming overnight), the course has been left with areas of waterlogged ground and racing today has been abandoned.”
That means there will only be one jumps fixture held on Wednesday at Hereford, which has survived the
weather conditions with the ground conditions described as heavy, soft in places.
