2.40 Beverley: Park Street
It is probably fair to call Park Street a Beverley specialist as his past two wins have come at the track and he has been a regular visitor here since those 2023 wins.
He has specific requirements which do not always transpire. He needs a strongly run race to separate the runners as he weaves his way through the field after invariably starting slowly.
There’s no doubt he is well handicapped - being 3lb lower than for his latest success. He finished fourth last time after not getting the breaks at all over course and distance.
This looks certain to be strongly run, which will obviously suit, and Tom Eaves can be expected to know Park Street better riding him for the second time. A draw in stall one is another positive.

Casilli rewarded each-way support when quite well backed last time out and his turn looks close. That third placed effort came over the extended mile and she was doing her best work at the end.
It looks as though Casilli, at 8, might well need a longer trip to win nowadays. The handicapper has not moved her for this, and I don’t think her mark is the issue. Hopefully, she will be spot on for her third run of the season.
5.10 Beverley: Fortunate Star
A look at the likely pace scenario for this race suggests that Fortunate Star may be able to sit just off a very strong pace, likely to be set by Blackcurrent, who is drawn in stall 3.
All the slow starters are then drawn in the middle of the pack which hopefully means the leaders may be able to establish a good lead on the inside.
Fortunate Star has an experienced rider on board and Zak Wheatley excels in sprint handicaps such as this.
It is also interesting that Fortunate Star has more entries later in the week, for which he wouldn’t carry a penalty should he win this.
