This afternoon's meeting at Uttoxeter is set to go ahead as scheduled after the course passed a morning inspection.Although the entire course has been covered by fleece since Wednesday, the prospect of freezing temperatures overnight on Friday prompted officials to announce a precautionary check for 7.30am.Clerk of the course Charlie Moore was happy to give the meeting the green light following the inspection, although subsequent snowfall is a mild concern.Moore said: "Ground temperatures dipped below freezing, but the air temperature stayed at zero and the track is raceable under the fleece."It has started snowing since we've given the meeting the go-ahead, which is a little bit of a worry. They're saying it could turn to sleet and rain through the course of the morning, so hopefully we'll be ok."
