Constitution Hill won his his second start on the Flat in ready fashion at Kempton Park on Wednesday night.
The former champion hurdler had dazzled on his belated Flat debut at Southwell last month and again won in taking style under Ryan Moore in the 1m 4f Virgin Bet Novice Stakes.
Sent off at 1-7, he settled well in fifth on the rail place before Moore switched him three out and invited the A-Lister to put his stamp on things.
He showed his customary acceleration and crossed the line two lengths clear of Classical Illusion.
"The horse is enjoying himself a lot and that is important," trainer Nicky Henderson said. "A mile and a half is probably as far as he wants. We'll have to sit down and have a think.
"It's been a funny old few days for us. One of his sparring partners [Sir Gino] was here at Christmas, and now he's not."
He added: "He knows his wayt around here, although it's a lt slower when we come here for pre-Cheltenham gallops. This is a different sport [for him], but he's pretty adapatable.
"He's had a difficult couple of years. We are sitting on the best hurdler in the country and it's heartbreaking, but this is wonderful. The [big] crowd here tonight means a lot."
The winning margin was nowhere near so commanding at Southwell but a steady gallop did not help on that front. He dipped under 12 seconds for the final three furlongs.
Humdrum midweek cards at Kempton usually plays out in front of empty stands but the nine-year-old again proved a huge magnet and his bulging Fan Club was not left disappointed.
Constitution Hill was applauded as he strutted into the paddock in relaxed mood.
He returned to the winner’s enclosure to be greeted by a big crowd, typically not turning a hair as he indulged his supporters with a lap of honour.
